I learned the most important lessons in life from my father, Tommie Goggans, Jr. Dad was born in Cottage Grove, Alabama in 1925. He was the second of seven children raised by God-fearing parents that believed in the values of decency, hard work, and discipline. At the age of 18 he enlisted in The United States Navy with only an eighth grade education. He served his country for 23 years retiring as a Senior Chief Petty Officer. He enjoyed a second rewarding career with the Lockheed Corporation for another 22 years. Not bad for a country boy born in 1920s Alabama.
My father always tried to accomplish two simple things: one, do everything to the best of his ability, and two, always make time to help others. I try to live life by the same principles.
Coaching and educating clients about finance and investments is a source of great satisfaction. Sharing my knowledge and using my gifts to build community and family is a great honor. I certainly know the importance of family, I have an amazing wife who is my partner in all things.
We are parents to eight wonderful children, four boys and four girls. If you're going to make a joke bring your A-game... I have heard them all. The Goggans love college football and Saturdays in the fall are reserved for relaxation, enjoying the games, and cheering for the University of Alabama.
These are the people that make each day a living expression of gratitude and joy. They are a constant reminder of the things that are truly important in this life. If an excellent wife is more precious than jewels, then I have been lavished with an abundance of wealth far exceeding all I could ever earn or deserve.
I am an avid CrossFit athlete and enjoy fitness that tests my endurance and physical limits. I maintain a pretty regimented diet but I love bacon (uncured) and will never pass up a good cup of coffee with heavy cream. I have my favorites among almost every genre of music and I love a good unabridged audiobook.
In addition to my work in the world of finance, I enjoy serving on not-for-profit boards.
Enough about me, let’s meet and talk about your story.
